Easter Sunday 2000
in church this morning I thought only of you
as the pastor rhapsodized about Christ
and the choir sang and in ecstasy
people around me raised their hands
in praise & worship
this was my 27th Easter Sunday
and I was not thinking of all the previous Easter Sundays
or the first Easter Sunday
when they say
they looked for a man in a tomb
and he was gone
memories of you and the love you have shown me
these past two months
were enough
I don't have any answers or solutions or theories
but I know enough to know that it is a miracle,
the love we have found
and so I celebrated Us today
and cried
good tears
