the rave
The Rave by STAR
I am surrounded by music and people.
Lights dance and colours play,
mimicing the rythmic pulsing beat.
A sensory overload;
music is pouring out of
everything, all around me, I
can’t distinguish its beat
from my own heart.
The melody makes my soul ache,
so beautiful yet so sad.
Words cannot describe its power.
I catch a glimpse of a girl
next to me and I can see
that she is equally
lost in her own deep thoughts.
She looks at me with a
smile in her eyes and soul,
and before I can object
she is hugging me,
asking me if I am having a good time.
I am speechless.
Faces I’ve never seen before
flash before my eyes.
Everything I have known and thought is
foreign to this place;
yet more than anything else I
feel an overwhelming sense of
belonging.
This is not a strange new
world I have entered,
for I have finally found my
home.
