So much to Remember - Part 1

Oh, if only I could forget to remember... If only the past would slip through my heart the way it slipped through my hands... If only I could say "Amen," and "Thanks for the memories," and "Thy will be done." (Thank you sir, may I have another?) But every moment... and every heartbeat (so very like the one before) reminds me of what I had and what I lost. And what could have been... (If only in my mind.) Oh, if only I could forget to remember... I might remember to breathe.
