Baby Don't Cry

Baby Don't Cry

Don't cry, baby.

I know there is a part of your heart that is raw

Ripped and torn from before

And perhaps I can't mend it for you

Though I would if I could.

But I can hold you in the night

Tight, tender, so tight

And stroke your soft hair through the dark hours.

Again

Don't cry, baby.

I know you've been used, abused

Had your love stolen by a thief

Who promised you moonbeams in the night

And to always hold you tight as can be

Just remember as the tears fall down your cheek

That was not me, no not me, not me.

It was not me.

Don't cry, baby.

I know trust takes time

And eventually love will make you mine

But there's no hurry for that right now

As I lay here at your side

And pull you close to my chest

Where its best to whisper in your ear.

I belong right here in your arms.

Forever.

Don't cry, baby.

But when you feel the need

Well go ahead and let go again

As long as I've been the one who hears,

And can be there to wipe away the tears,

As only I can do.

Go ahead and cry for a while baby

And I'll cry too,

I'll cry too.

We'll cry together, me and you.

Don't cry, baby.

Baby don't cry.
