IMAGES

Standing in the morning sun catch sweet rays of light
Dew that formed upon the grass a wetness on my feet
Another day is happening a new one has begun
So long ago and far away remembrances of fun
When I was young within that dew were images of you

A breeze floats by clouds in the sky
Bird songs upon the air
Smelling flower's fragrance sweet just dreaming as I stare
So long ago I had no cares but now those days are through
When I was young within the sun were images of you

A child's laughter as they play I used to sing that song
Blissfully the days would pass all the summer long
As we age the days go fast and now I wonder how
It's all the same but different now I know this to be true
Youthful days left as I grew but in the sun there still remains images of you

I wonder if she's there staring at the sun, wondering too as I do when her time will come
A broken heart that's torn apart like mine make no mistake
To answer dreams that we have seen reflections on the lake
Another soul to make her whole will she share her life with me
I rather hope that I may cope, stave off insanity
Until that time when we may find each other and be free
Long ago I did not know when staring at the sun
The one I saw would someday call and no longer would I grieve
