The Shadow's Story

The Mirror's Picture

The mirror knows the secrets
Of the picture on the wall
Half man, half horse
Dark skin, eyes and hair
So strong, handsome.
He holds her body
As though in a lovers dance.

Through the mirror's eye,
The shadow cries their story to the night
A story of passion
Longing
Of love
And the push and pull of time

Half woman, half horse
Creamy skin and hair
Flows softly over her beauty
Her gesture pulls him with one hand
And pushes away with the other,
Longing to stay, yet she slips away

His strong arms hold on tightly
Never having really let her go
Though time stood still between them
When she came dancing back into his arms
The shadow in the mirror cried
And the picture was put back in place again.
