where the angels are

i thought you were beautiful
as you lay there
with your green eyes irridescent in
the pale light next to my bed
i draw a line between your brow
and your jaw line
tracing it with my lips
you held me close to you
your body trembling at the touch
of my skin
our first shy kisses almost reluctant
to give into what both of us were feeling
and had been since years before
when i was young
and you were old
and we never met inbetween
an inbetween shaped blackhole in the universe
our throats were dry from hours of talking
and now your scent was ingrained into my pores
from hugging our bodies next to each other
your peace ran over me
water flowing over a warm rock
currents rushing riptides grabbing
hurricanes laying waste
to years of pain and suffering
of beaten hearts
and glowering hope
and heres my hope in you
in a moments kiss and a flick of the tongue
i wanted you from the moment
i saw you and now years later
you lie in my bed
and i wonder where the angels are now
if they put this moment in time together
should they not be rejoicing
in this beautiful man lying next to me
and i find a dream
somehow unaware of the reality forming
while our bodies meet each surging motion
emotion
and i pray to those angels
that they give these moments to memory
and you don't slip so shallowly away
into the current
