Adagio Lacking

Damn the waking moment!
Were it not so swift
I would have a slow heart.
But no, it is here,
And in it's very NOW,
Has gripped my heart;
Twisted it from it's root;
Brutaly torn it from my chest.
I would not wake!
Rather leave me sleep, I beg,
For the waking brings me
Knowledge of your absence.
Damn the waking moment!
Stealing speedily the breath
From my unsuspecting lips
To use in it's song of
Dreadful declaration.
I plead adagio, met in refusal.
Quick as a knife slash
It cuts me to the quick
And screams, "HE IS GONE!"
