I can heal a wounded soul
when hurt and pain have taken a toll
when no one listens to a word you say
I'll be the one to always stay.

I'll hold you in my arms so tight
I'll cry and whisper "it'll be alright"
when you need me I'll drop it all
just to be there to break your fall.

When you feel you've met hell
I'll take time to get you well
I'll understand all I'm able
and never plead for a useless label.

Please don't give up on me
I'm working hard and trying to see
I promise to be a good friend
