What can I do*

In my heart I feel I’ve found someone extremely special.
Yet I cant find the right things to express it.
Is this love that I have found
Or just a passing sweetheart

I find myself awaiting her call
 Her visit
 Her touch
Are my feelings too much?
Just wanting to be near
 Am I asking too much?
What can I do?
I feel I’ve fallen for you

I try to look inside this heart, that has taken me by surprise.
But the door seems to be locked
Where is the key?
Can I see what’s inside?
Or is this what you intend to hide

You say you want a “companion” yet a companion is one of a pair.
Love, trust and affection, would all be there
I only write to express that I care
What else can I do? 
I can’t hold onto something that is not there
It’s not fair

So I ask of you this one thing 
If I am for you and you are for me
Let us be together 
In time grow together
Like true companions
Or 
Set me free
Cause I don’t know what else to do.
