Silence and you...

It is another winter night, cold and dark, no candles alight,
As I lie facing the ceiling with my eyes wide open,
I see all darkness and a faint ray of light,
Sneaking between the blinds from the distant street light.

The quietness of the night is like the innocence of a child,
Pure and chaste, nothing breaks the purity of the silence,
Just once in a while, the sound of a distant police siren and the bark of a dog,
And moments later, I fall into deep sleep thinking about you.
