Silver Plated Love

The bitter white winter lays her hands upon us without a moment of regret
How I wish I could be more like her when it came to things like that
Her silver lining shimmers for all to see in the slightest of lights
In all of her glory she glistens as the sun blankets o'er the night
I've stayed awake this blustery hour to be caught in this precious phase
Unscathed by the calloused, vehement hands of the people we are today
When they meet in the sky, what a glorious effect it has on those who watch
They sparkle together as they entertwine, a unit of time never lost
Their beauty at calm and their beauty in storms is an ever puzzling mystery
For man has tried to hold on to love in times like this throughout history
So I take home my new found knowledge about life and love and fate
And I silently sit with a cup of cocoa waiting for my destined mate
When he comes he'll be so beautiful, not in looks but deep in his soul
We'll triumph through love and war no matter how the winds may blow
As a tear runs down my cheek I know I'll remember this lesson forever
Long after the ice has melted and the snow runs warmly through rivers
