What Was
An empty heart
Encased in a hollow shell
A mere representation
A shadow
Of the beauty that once was
These feelings twist and turn
Inside me
As I look at you
Within the eye of my mind
I can see the faded greatness
That you once possessed
See what you have lost
So much lost
From the beginning 'till now
And as the story goes
The great ones shall fall
And you fell
Once upon a time
You fell apart
Lost peices of yourself
Important peices of your being
Your soul
Like losing a limb
You are not like you used to be
You don't have the same abilities
You've lost the ability
To see beyond yourself
To love without restraint
Perhaps, to love at all
Your eyes have lost their sparkle
Your smile, its warmth
Your look is far away, now
You're gone from me
I don't know you anymore
And I miss you
More than words
Can ever really say
Miss the glimmer of lightning
In your eyes
Miss that silly way-ward grin
I miss all that you were
All that you had to offer
And selfishly

How I was
Who I was
When I was with you

That we were from

Joined in an eclipse
