Have Your Cake, And Eat It Too

Someday,I will make you see
In my aching heart you will be

Finally, perhaps, understand
Take my side for once

You corrupt my mind with your truthfulness
I had never imagined you so ruthless

As to the things you say
You do the things you do

Sanity is not an option here
Survival is the key, I fear

I want not but to have my cake
Eat it too, but I can't do that

I will shatter when you break me
Funny how that's what you can't see

You say you love, but love you don't, for love
Is not posession,no matter how much you care

We two have twisted and turned on everyone
And now we have no more fun

How would I ever make you understand?
That any wild thing will die caged

And even when you think I hate
Try to remember what's holding us is fate

I long that you will open your eyes
And I know see through to the goal

A truth that resides in me
A truth you have needed to see

And when I have my cake and eat it too
I will try to remember you
