A Kiss
A kiss can mean so many things
A cheerful hello, a gentle goodbye
It can mean I love you or I think we should just be friends
It can be stolen or simply given away
It can be hurried or prolonged for hours
It can be the flame that starts a raging fire
Or it can be the rain that calms the storm
It can mean Thank You or I am proud of you
It can be as subtle as a sigh or as forceful as a blow
It can wipe away tears or create ones born of pure joy
It can be a question or an answered prayer
A kiss can be forgotten or remembered for all time
But no two will ever be the same
Yes - a kiss can mean a lot of things and is a language all it’s own
And as I search my memory of little pecks and lip locks
I cannot recall ever a kiss that was just a kiss…
