i love you not,but do

i love you not,but do

i love you not, i speak to you no more,
but i do love you, and think of you,
you are of one course, i of another.
and on a star-crossed mis-adventure we met.
i acted my affections, and you not,
at least not to me.

for you loved another, and he was dis-liked
for no good reason, he is as human as the rest of us.
flaws, good points, and he is a nice guy.

so the two of you upon your path to climb the walls together,
and i to forge the steel into a better world,
and love all women,  like schindler, and in the end try to find happiness, i'm sure it's looking me in the face anyway.

so walk among the leaves, comb the beaches for shells,
as our paths diverge and we look ahead i'm sure we'll both do well.

i love you,and have since the day we met
my peace is spoken.
