^ The Poisoned Pen ^

Words can hurt, wound and mar
Cut you deeply, leave a scar

Tear you up, bring a sigh
Hurt real bad, make you cry

A poisoned pen, can deal a blow
With lethal ink, with venom flow

Oozing fangs, surging jaws
Digging in,  sharpened claws

Razor  words, cut to the quick
Stabbing deep,  a jabbing stick

Slicing through, with two edge sword
Open wound, as hearts blood poured

The owner of the poisoned pen
Enjoys the pain that he doth send

Thrives upon their  agony
From words he sends in poetry

At first his words, are bathed in wine
Seductively charm  their craving mind

He knows just what,  they want to hear
To draw them close,  to bring them near

With words of grace, artistic splendor
Inviting new love,  to last forever

Watching closely as they sink
The poisoned words as they drink

Swallowing deeply his words of  art
Giving him access to their inner heart

Once they have entered his seductive traps
Vulnerable victims he viciously snaps

Rejecting their love,  in fatal prose
An opened heart, so quickly closed

With surgical quickness,  he releases his prey
To lick their wounds and run away

Another is already , in the  fateful making
A new love object,  for which he's faking

With poisoned pen,  he lures one more
With no idea,    what is in store

Back to back, his prose is strung
With one he lures,  while one is hung

Upon the stake of fatal prose
Impaled upon his pointed  blows

The final  death,  of  the poisoned writer
A nameless ghost,  a horseless rider

From the poisoned pen,  comes a howling cry
A raging scream,   that will never die
