Angel Sleeping tucked away inside a shell around the soft inside gentle heart throbs with light shoos away the angry night Safe within her warm embrace years fall from your tired face youth comes back true to form relaxed anew a child reborn her voice a touch that's whisper soft it sends your jaded heart aloft the airy being with downy wings transcends the dread in earthly things no more the sadness the guilt the pain for a time you're free of reality's drain then slowly she will loose her hold and nudge you back toward your world the place created by yourself your soul on ice high on a shelf though to this angels' breast you cleave she'll smile at you when she makes you leave back to the children, your house, your life, back to your cold indifferent wife, unsure you are which way to go, she'll pull you close, and let you go. |
