I say I love you then twisting in the wind, wrists swollen head afire with hurting neck frozen push you away and howl into the night like a maddened creature wild in torment. I say don't go then heart wooden brain numbed lips icy run again until my chest burns almost as hot as the tears. I say I can accept, then driven by a new demon bury myself away in gibbering dark. I know you may not believe, think I have failed you in this love, question the words, doubt the promises, and fear my touch. Each day is a question mark.
