Her short pillowy hair caresses the back of her neck with a hint of fruits tickling my nose Her aqua eyes warm my heart to compromise With a laugh I strive to bring forth from her lips Her kisses upon my cheek Leave my heart yearning When she embraces me I just want to hold on tighter Rosy cheeks that glow Soft baby-like skin As my lips press against them She gives me a little giggle Our emotions so innocent Our time together so precious Our hands come together In unity under our Father above The same hands we use To pray for each other As time nears for me to leave I run my hand upon your face If I could protect you from harm I would die to do so The way you raise To hug me upon your tippy toes The way you breathe As we embrace under the moonlight I pray for us sweet girl That our hearts belong to God Then through him That we may become closer still Maybe one day, just maybe I will take your hand Under that same moonlight And ask you to be mine But for now, I pray for us Enjoy each others company Never forgetting the beauty of our love painted on a canvas before us |
