Did you think that salvation would be given in the form of a band of gold? That your demons would be held at bay, by a covenant. Healing was never offered, absolution not promised. Those gifts were never mine to give. But, failure of truth comes with a price. Though never a monetary thing, the cost will be quite high. No longer a resting place of the soul, or love unconditional given. Where would you like me to send this bill? |
