Minors I've been out with plenty of girls Dated some of the finest of their kind And achieved every goal I set out for And I usually know my limits How far my looks can get me, considering if I have any But this girl.... She looks good...wait, more than just simply "good" She looks endless Her beauty stretches beyond forever She has eyes of gold and silver, shimmering in the light, And lighting the dark Her smile, oh, her smile her smile makes me smile She is more beautiful than every single girl I have ever dated PUT TOGETHER And considering the number of girls I've dated That is saying quite a lot She is way out of my league I'm in the minors and she is in the majors Sure I can find a way in with a little hard work and determination she can be mine But there are just better players out there than me With better swings and a better bating average So I think to myself why would she settle for a rookie like me? But, if just given the chance I would offer her everything that my minor league salary can offer I'd show her what nice guys are all about Sure, we may finish last But it's only because we pace ourselves We're in no hurry because we know we'll reach, The finish line soon enough I only hope that when I finally reach the end She'll be waiting there for me |
