Wait... don't turn on that light! Hey, don't you listen? It's way too bright!! Stop looking at me... the flaws are all showing! Oh, for crying out loud, the damned things are glowing!! Dim those lights... hell, just turn them out! The more you look at me, the more you doubt!! We all have our own skeletons...our own source of fright! I'll tell you more, if you lose that spotlight!! Scars of the past...No! Not just the ones on the skin! Ones from abuse, from neglect, from anothers sins!! Years of imprisonment...In my mind and under that thumb! Have left me confused, battered, unsure... dumb!! When the light is harsh..."Turn it off!" I scream! Here, see how you like it under the scrutinizing beam!! Only love me in the darkness...You can't handle the truth! The dim light is better, it calms me, it soothes!! Too many years trying to explain...Hell, it's been forever! So few people have understood life could have been better!! The ones who imposed the pain...The heartless cowards! They have the brightest lights, hence the sharpest swords!! They want the world to see me...To see what they have done! The bastards are proud of it, to them it's fun!! But, I'm not amused...I'm not impressed in the slightest! What can I do? Hold up the flag of surrender or fight it!! It's all too confusing...it's all just me rambling! Unless you can take it, leave the light off and keep on walking!!!!!! |
