He stared, dumbstruck at the torrent and rack bitter, rasping sobs that filled the air between us. Embarrassed, turning away pulls me closer, makes me stay. Nestled against him arms I thought lost for good wrapped tight around my body his voice that was but a memory rumbling against my ear the source of these miserable tears. He didn't know I'd miss him, or that I want him, love him he didn't know the price I'd paid keeping overt emotion hidden he kisses my cheek and mumbles low "I know you better now." |
