Sit and wonder

Sometimes I sit and wonder. Okay not sometimes, most, of the time I sit and wonder. Sometimes I think about how I love to write. My friends say that it's a good way for me to attract girls. That most women prefer a man that can express his feelings through pen and paper. But then I sit and wonder...

what makes me so special or different?

Does writing poetry really make me any more sensitive than the next guy? Just because I write down my feelings does it suddenly mean that I can feel love in a depth that the next guy couldn't even begin to understand?

I consider writing like learning how to walk, swim, or ride a bike. Once you get the hang of it then it becomes quite easy and then through time it just becomes second nature.

And, no, I don't think I'm any more sensitive or better than the next guy that couldn't write a line of poetry if his life depended on it.

If anything I admire those "Mans-man-type" guys. I could explain to them what a stanza was but if they told me to replace a spark plug in a car all I would be able to tell them is that I could write about it.
