The quiet calm of the evening envelops me
Solitude penetrates my soul
I enter our private paradise alone
The tress have dropped most of their leaves and seem taller
The moon bigger
and I am smaller
The air is cool and moist, heavy with sorrow
The fountain has been turned off
and now looks like a cumbersome pile of cement
rather than the beautiful monument I was accustomed to seeing
The flowers are now mostly dead
but darkness is a wonderful disguise for this loss of life
and love. |
