writing process

Okay, the first few lines to anything you write have to be the best and be able to catch the readers attention. The rest will flow from then on.

Oh okay, hmmm...

I had met her in a bar, she told me she wanted a good man, and I told her I wanted to be a good man. A couple of beers later, we both started to believe I was a man of noble birth. Then I umm, I uhh...

You have no idea where you're going with that story do you? Stop writing in the passive voice, write about what you know. Stick to the basics.

Alright, I'll write about what I know. Hmmm...

I know that I love my wife more than I will be ever able to express. I know that I'm only a man because she makes me one. I know that I want to spend the rest of my life with her. I know that I want her to have my kids. I know that the day I stop loving her is the day I stop loving at all.

Umm, that's great. But you know you could never sell that to an audience.

Yeah I know, but I only write for her. She's my greatest fan.

You know you aren't a good writer.

Yeah I know, that's why I'm a business major. I stick to what I know.
