Opinionation

Well, hello to the mouths that roared; everyone's a critic, and none are ever pleased,
I sympathize with these poor experts who lost their mind the last time they sneezed.
Sing lullabye for freedom, adios to liberty; ending of everything we take for granted,
Dare you to try crucifying me on a cross made from trees you so righteously planted.
Stand, scream as loud as possible in the streets; raising awareness an octave or two,
Got themselves cause and a place, man; just get out of my face when you're through.

Ever listen to yourself when you bitch and moan ad nauseam; look, a river appeared!
On the brink of becoming subjugated by a hydra of good ol' boys, just like we feared!
Halfway across the world, our sons and daughters follow orders given to fight and die,
And some show their support by cursing their leaders without looking them in the eye.
Trained for warfare on two fronts, indeed; where is greater conflict, home or abroad?
And you're proud to be an American until it becomes your inconvenience; rather odd.

Oh, you have as much right to complain as anyone, I know; such is democracy's cost,
Been as much blood shed in battle as from the bleating hearts of the little sheep lost.
Droning of the way-it-should-bes notwithstanding, I think of those in the lines of fire,
And my prayer goes out to anyone left sleeping unsoundly as the sirens shrill higher.
Beyond the right or the wrong of what is or what shall be, I stand proud, giving hand,
Grasping at opportunity of peace but knowing what heroes may sacrifice for my land.
