I catch your scent lingering
throughout the room,
imagining you preparing yourself this morning
for another tedious day at work,
and at that instant
I wish you were here with me
holding me in your arms
as you do during the weekends
when we have precious moments together.
At that instant
I wish you would've called out sick
and spent the day
caressing me within your grasp
enjoying the presence of one another.
