I stand alone between the fading colors of my life watching as the sunset casts long shadows across my path .......I shiver as loneliness whispers in a cold breath the hollow words that match ........the ache in my heart that is missing you and from the approaching night I draw the comfort of its darkness around my shoulders so I may hide my tears behind its protective shroud I fight back at the empty grip of panic that now pursues my soul and clutches at my throat knowing ...that you shall never return and your flame that I carried in my soul ......like the setting sun will soon leave me ....cold and alone with the memories that we once were sitting deep within the far distant pleasures of my mind then I turn to the dark of this faceless night to catch the echo of your last good bye as it slides between the fading colors of my life and I know in my heart that tonight I can dream of you .........no more |
