it baffles me that i am someone's wife i have a wonderful husband with whom i share a home, two cats, and a name i laugh to myself sometimes at how i used to sing "Nobody's Wife" by Annouck(is that right? The dutch girl?) at the top of my lungs with passion and vigor "never gonna be... never gonna be nobody's wife!" five years later... I have a ring on my finger and a very strong desire to procreate i wanted to be a femminist an independent creature of the nightlife but alas, my soul disagreed before my resistance to love, i was a 9-year-old playing with wedding day midge and alan this is who i really am a lover, a woman, a partner and hopefully a mother it is interesting that we can shield ourselves for so long from our own true calling that we can hide for a while until our life decides to speak |
