There was a young girl, Who gave away her heart. She broke down the protective walls, With her insecurities she would part. She learned to love herself, To believe in who she was. She realized there was even more to life, Than what she once only dreamed of. She owed it all to him, To the guy that set her free. She was finally for once happy, He gave her reason to believe. To believe that she had worth, That she could spread her wings and fly. To believe that she could make it, He gave her reason to try. To try to forget the past, And mend her once broken heart. He gave her all these hopes and dreams, Then he chose to part. She cried as he walked away, She called out his name. She then begin to feel it again, That old familiar pain. She went back to the life, That she had lived before he came. She tried to build those walls back, But it would never be the same. She had lost a love before, And that piece of her heart she never got back. Now this guy followed that same path, So another piece of her heart she would lack. Now she sits in her shell, Safe from all the heartache and pain. She sits alone for nights on end, With her head hung in shame. I am this young girl, Who will never love again. I am this young girl, Too scared to let someone else in. |
