Waking up at 4 am to get ready for work I miss the days in college when I'd sleep in and catch up on class later I get up not because I have to of course, not because I want to and not because I love you just because I should and I'm trying to pretend I'm a half decent reliable man Trying to avoid fast food lying to myself when I suck in my gut I'd eat a salad, but there's just something about greens that take away that blood thirsty meat hunter instinct I'd like to think I have nowadays I'm pretending to be a million different things Maybe I'm growing as a man or maybe I'm curling up my fists getting ready for that quick jab to jaw and looking for one more reason to throw in the towel |
