Disapearing With Winter

I am wounded
making my way back home
divorcing these temptations
from my soul

could you watch over me
while I sleep
and gently fold my worries
underneath the darkness of the night:
Kiss me and leave the stars in envy
(drag me back
into that yesterday
where I had no want)

Someday I'll bend
and admit that I am wrong
until then
won't you join me
and this firelight
for just tonight,
we can count the snowflakes
as they fall upon our skin;
melting what little desire remains.
