LBNY

Fridays
Sometimes
I drink.
And I forget the time space continuum
They taught me in college
And pretend you are sitting with me
On the rickety porch of the overpriced beach house
In those flimsy plastic chairs
Listening to the Atlantic Ocean in the dark.
I smoke Capri Ultra Lights
While you smoke pot.
We drink wine
And even with the breeze off the ocean
Its warm.
My dog is sound asleep inside.
And I’m just glad you won’t be leaving
Until morning.
Because the night
Lasts forever
In this glass of wine.

What I wouldn’t give
Tonight
For a genuine
New York Italian ice
And you asleep
In my bed.
