Our Endless Sea

Our eyes met and melted
  blue into green,
like watercolors left in the pouring rain.

I resided in cool deep shadow
   and you in summer gold,
but this purest form of beauty grew far beyond
what you or I could ever hope to hold.

And each night I remain
captured by the sea of flaming stars,
green locked,
  intently waiting for blessed blue.

But still you do not come
and still I do not see you there,
is heaven much to grand a scale
that the weight of our love may not find the same stair.

Build me a ship out of moonlight,
with gossamer sails of spun sugar cloud,
or perhaps my flesh will bear wings for you
and I will venture forth alone.

Either way my eyes shall forage,
either way my brilliant green shall be,
  locked on sky forever
till I find my waves of truest blue
and irises collide together to make the essence
of the most glorious and endless sea...
