Alone

alone we eat once pleasures which we shared,
the wine glasses seem emptier.
the solidarity and stagnate air of our own scent
remind us of the loneliness,
as the beds we once played in are cold
from the vacancy of our absence.
now the sudden noises startle us
because the regularity of silence has sharpened our ears.
we pray that this destitute will one day fade like the sun,
as it melts into the warm sea.
