Starr Power

Tracing the crack in your heart with the tip of my finger, all the way down to the well of pain, I try and whisk away some chunk of it like icing off a cake.  My heart has the same well worn split but has been bandaged together once again, holding tight, for now.  Little leaks now and again.  Your humor helps to hold back the flood.  How did I find you again, sixteen years after my first introduction to you?  A few years back, I drove through your state, even your city, on a business trip.  It crossed my mind to try and find you and say hello.  Timing is everything.  Now is better.  We cross paths again soon among the vines and I know it will be a misty gray few days.  No clear route to take, only each inhale as it comes.  I hope I remember to exhale through the blushing and stumbling.  It all hangs in the balance of a grape not yet ripened.
