Left Behind

I see life so clearly, the sun is rising, its beautiful with its bright and joyous colors.
The palm trees sway in the wind, as I hear dogs barking.

I'm sitting on this empty roof top, the floor is still wet from the light rain shower.
The cold feels good against my warm bare feet. Sitting on this window sill, looking out to the world below, just thinking about life.

I know I'm here, my body is physically here, but I'm just on auto pilot.
My soul, part of me, stayed behind to be with you.

As each and every passing day,
I never run out of things to say.

Wishing to be back in your arms once more,
Thinkin of how things were before.

You have no idea how you make me feel,
It really is a big deal.

Sitting on a table, illuminated by a single flickering candle,
I think of how much I have to handle.

A dinner made for two is eaten by one lonely soul,
This loneliness really takes a toll.

Layin back and thinking, just sipping on some wine,
Cold and alone I sit and dine,
Thinkin of the lover I left behind...
