An embrace these days is the warmth of water from the morning shower caressing the naked body of the wounded bird as her feathers blow away in the wind Lady Bird limps she can’t fly as she was plucked from the sky by the vultures that circled within as they danced on her back exposing her soul Lady Bird fought hard to protect all she had known tried to keep them out of her home but she was all alone keeping them at bay because in the end she was the prey and just in the way Lady Bird did all she could do but the wind leaves no shadow it became a losing battle time to heal the wounds close up the scars pull out the arrows still near her heart The wind leaves no shadow echoes the breeze Fly Lady Bird Fly circle the globe on high disappear into the night sky find your sanctuary find your home and to all that you had hoped say Goodbye Belinda 10/19/08 |
