Manifested Iridescence

We are lost
in the hearts
of our painful yesterdays
again.
Can you come home
and dispel
the demons
of our misplaced joys?
Because the hells
of our future children
will not leave
us
until we have let flown
thine
horrors.
And
I will not let you leave
until the lights
of my quintesscent hopefulness
breathe their last
breath
in the presence
of your
sweet understanding.

I exile the remnants
of my solidity,
I allow
the crumbs
of the most perfect smile
to guide
me
into the concreteness
of tomorrow.
You bloom,
you open up
and allow
the
world
into your bosom.

You
swallow
the fire
and the liars/
they lick their lips
as they understand
that what they gaze upon
is pure
and simple,
simply
beautiful.

I can’t decide whether to keep “bosom” in the second last stanza or to change it to the original “breast.”

I also can’t decide whether to keep “allow” or to change it to “welcome” in the same stanza. Damn it.
