NO REGRETS (for CHC)



You were my best friend once

A past fondly remembered

A present I cant forget

A future that will at least be civil now

Honestly I have few regrets.



The few that are left

Have left a mark 

Too deep to simply erase

The bond once held between us then

Was one you just cant replace.



I wish to take back

A certain foolish night

Slipping through an open back door

To an empty house

Except for two souls

Who knew there should not have been more.



I wish to take back

A foolish thought

Of something I knew impossible

You had long since changed your mind

Your heart was already full.



One thing I do not think foolish

A wonderful summer afternoon

Living memory of first love divine

Hearts, souls, and minds as one

The right thing at such a wrong time.



You say things wont be the same

You say I dont know you anymore

No matter what is said, 

I still know your heart like no one else does

And that is what I loved you for.
