TOUCHED

Long gentle fingers,
Intertwined with mine.
My head on your shoulder,
Dreaming in silence.
The passion stirs.

Lightly you lift my head,
The love I've longed for
Is conveyed without words
Through the light in your eyes.
I am immersed in their glow.

You've touched something in me
That was previously pristine.
Heart mixed with passion,
Passion mixed with soul,
Soul mixed with intellect.
All have been captivated by you.
The combination is intoxicating.

Ever so softly you kiss me.
I feel you envelop me from within
With such love and desire,
That I have never felt.
And I am addicted.

My love is boundless,
Never ending and effortless.
It hides no conditions,
Requirements or stipulations.
It just is and always will be.

I wonder, what lies ahead?
I find myself imagining things
Never even contemplated before.
Building a continuous life with you,
Seeing your likeness enmeshed with mine
In the face of a child,
Living life with love
Rather than around it.
At times I find these thoughts
Extraneous and I loose the words.

You wrap your arms around me
And pull me into your chest.
I feel the tremendous security,
In your arms and in your heart,
Of a love withstanding.

In a soft voice you whisper
"I love you today"
My response?
"I love you forever"
