The Daisy

Though small and fragile
I was never thought of
as the most beautiful flower...
Until you.

You picked me
and held me up to the light.
You held me close in the dark
when the shadows came.

You admired me
and showed me off.
Your smile was a sliver of life.
A ray of sunshine on my face.

When you look toward me
I am not dull or boring.
Never plain or colorless...
I am yours.
