You know, it wasn't long ago
my entire life was shattered
in just a single moment
I lost everything that mattered
And though I know the day will come
I'll find somebody new
my life was still so empty 
the days were always blue
Then one day like a big surprise
came a little girl with big bright eyes
A precious angel with hair so blond
in no time at all we had a special bond
Then there was you 
with a smile that can light up a room
Out of nothing a friendship grew
And just as the air is sweetened by a warm summer rain
so the two of you touched my life-
released me from my pain
and brought me laughter once again
I guess what I've always tried to say
with teddy bears, cakes, and cookie bouquets
is that I think you both are special
in just about every way
Thank you for being a friend
and I hope that you can see
that you also have a friend in me
Through all of life's ups and downs
please know that I care
and will always be there
For in a world where lovers often part
and committment seems a thing of the past
may this be a friendship that will always last
