Spineless

I just came from my writing class, and I'm really puzzled.
I wrote this story about my beloved and me and our relationship. It's a
workshop class, and tonight was my turn to get workshopped. The format is that
the author cannot say anything while the rest of the class discusses the story.
I was completely surprised at the things that people said about us!
They said that my beloved was very stupid (one guy said, "he's like Woody on
Cheers!"), and that no guy would ever turn off a gross movie because it was
gross just to talk to a girl. They said that no guy would ever hold off on sex
for any reason. They said that no guy would let a girl yell at him, and that
no guy would want a girl after she did yell at him. They said that the girl
shouldn't have wasted so many years on him without getting laid. They said that
no guy would ever run after a girl after she walked out on him. "It's too much
like the movies." They said that the girl should have walked out on him and
never come back like she did at the end of the story. One girl said that she
would have respected the girl if she hadn't come back, but since she did she
thought the girl was "spineless".
  Is that true????
