I am here and you are there

I am here,
  and you are there.
This use to be
  just blocks, just minutes.
I wish it still
  were so.
But now the blocks
  have become miles,
And the minutes
  are hours.

I am here,
  and you are there.
God, I wish it
  wasn't so.
But now you are
  way over there,
And I am
  way over here.

I'm learning to
  live with it.
I wish I didn't
  have to, though.
But to keep going,
  day in and day out.
One thought is always
  inside my head,
The thought of
  our love for another.

I love you
  so very much,
You love me
  just the same.
This one thought
  is how I survive.
Without that thoguht
  I could not go on.

I live fo the next time
  that we are to meet.
I live for the next time
that your arms are around me.
I live to see your
  handsome face.
And to kiss your lips
  once again.

I am here,
  and you are there.
God, I wish it
  wasn't so.
I miss you more than
  anyone could understand.
But out love is strong
  and will survive.
One day we will be together,
  never again to part.
I can not wait until that
  glorious day,
When once again,
I am here and so are you.
