Blurred Perception

false hopes
eventually lead to feelings of betrayal
false beliefs 
that you love me
and 
false interpretations
of the sparks between us
an invisible string
connecting us,
becoming tighter with less and less space between us

wrong

my perception is distorted
the string is becoming tighter
not because of us coming together
but because you are pulling away
towards another girl
another love
not me
then after time the pull is so great
that the string snaps
throwing me to the ground
alone
and pushing you towards your true love
and i watch as you two embrace and i am solitary
tears sting my eyes
with feelings of betrayal
by you
sometimes even the girl
a friend?

it happens every time
a common event
i am forever led on 
then dropped
by 
false hopes
