The Basics of Love

To all who came before me,
to all who fell behind,
Watch your step very carefully,
'Cause love will make you blind.

Never take a shortcut,
never run the mile,
Always stay in between,
the paper's in Loves' file.

Keep your distance from the start,
and try to stay away from the end.
And watch out for the saying
"I just want to be your friend"


For not all love is good,
and not all love is bad.
Just hope that you'll never look back,
on the love that you once had.
