The Usual

I saw something at the market today,
It reminded me of you
So I decided to buy it.
When I went to your favorite antique store,
I could smell your familiar scent.
I turned abruptly to see if it was you.
disappointment
There was the same cat outside your apartment today.
He was waiting for you to feed him.
He was waiting for you to come home,
the usual.
You weren't there
So I took him, again.

I opened the door to my place
and my eyes fixed on the sunglasses you left, and
the picture of you by my lamp.

I took your sunglasses
the picture of you
the wired sculpture I bought for you at the market,
And tried to throw them away,
As Usual.
